The Triple Threat for your web3 education

The Triple Threat for your web3 education

Overview

This post will break down how you can utilise these protocols to start your journey into web3❗These three projects are a great way to immerse yourself within the community and learn about web3 with other like-minded people🔮.

Rabbithole

Rabbithole is designed to reward individuals for using web3 products and protocols. When a user interacts with applications such as opensea or sushiswap, Rabbithole rewards the user with exp points which levels them up. If you complete a quest after it is released, you can also be eligible to receive tokens of the respective project whose task you completed. This creates the idea of “learn-to-earn”💰.

Rabbithole aims to encourage users to immerse themselves in different web3 protocols that they wouldn’t have used otherwise.

Examples of skills

A great example is DAO governance skills🏛️. All you have to do is vote in governance, but if you’re a newbie to crypto, that can be pretty intimidating or confusing. Rabbithole provides tutorials for most skills and exposes you to parts of crypto that you might not have come across alone📗.

Another example is using polygon or optimism. If people are new to ethereum, they will want to avoid the ❌high gas fees❌, and Rabbithole educates users about these layer two solutions so they are aware that they can still utilise DeFi on other networks instead of ethereum. People are getting educated about layer two solutions but learn how to 🌉bridge🌉 over and use these different solutions, which adds another skill to their web3 education.

Statistics

Since the birth of DeFi in summer 2020 and many layers two are becoming more active, this has spawned so many similar protocols, and Rabbithole aims to tackle that by exposing users to “best” or “interesting” protocols.

“Since our launch in December, we’ve worked with dozens of teams like Matcha, Opensea, Gnosis, Aava, mStable, Perpetual Protocol, ENS and PoolTogether to help these protocols start spending treasury money on tailored community discovery. Here are some of our recent highlights."

  • 10,000+ addresses have completed a task on Rabbithole;
  • $100,000+ in rewards have been distributed by projects to users who completed tasks;
  • Rabbithold increases PoolTogether’s user base on polygon by 300%

Potential airdrop

If you completed the ENS skills on Rabbithole before the deadline, you would have been eligible for the airdrop. That would have been a possible $5,000+ of free 💰 for completing a quest! It does pay to learn in this space!

Another example of this is the launch of an IDEX dex on polygon. They have committed to airdrop 1,000,000 IDEX tokens to users whose wallet has traded on QuickSwap or SushiSwap on the Polygon Network before Nov 9, 2021 - 23:59 GMT-0. This was another project on Rabbithole, so again it pays to learn📚!

Buildspace 🦄

Buildspace is a free-to-learn resource to learn and practice coding for solidity (Ethereum) and rust (Solana). Buildspace is backed by @a16z + @ycombinator. Their projects launch every weekend or so on a Saturday or Sunday, and they currently offer four projects✔️.

  • Build a web3 app + smart contracts
  • Mint your NFT collection and ship a web3 app
  • Create your own mini turn-based NFT browser game
  • Build a web3 app on Solana with react and rust

This is an excellent introduction for web2 engineers to pivot into web3 with these projects and the support of a great community. Their discord is an important aspect when taking part in buildspace, a lot of people support each other, and their creators are very active in the discord too✨.

Earn a NFT

Every time you complete a project, you will receive an NFT too❗ This is a great way to build your online credentials as a web3 engineer, and people will recognise this as a sign that you are aware of how web3 components work. The best part about these NFTs is that they are airdropped to you too so there is no cost in claiming them.

Sucess Stories

Buildspace has also been working with companies to hire people who complete their courses and have successfully done so. Here is an example - One of the creators of buildspace mentioned that they helped a 19-year-old in Brazil gain a job❗

Developer_DAO

This is DAO of people who want to contribute to web3. Not everyone is a developer, but they are hoping to contribute to the development of web3. I am not even a developer myself (yet), but it’s a great way to meet like-minded individuals. But how does developer_dao work, and what does it offer❓

NFT & ERC-20 token

There was a free NFT for people to mint to gain access to the developer_dao, all you had to do was cover the costs, and then you got access to the entire discord server. Currently, all the NFTs have been minted, but the DAO is working on a token to increase the membership size, but all current NFT holders will be regarded as “founding members” and will have a use-case in the future.

The future token is to scale to provide better mechanisms to scale what the DAO is doing, recognise contributions and welcome more people into our community.

What does it do?

The DAO provides a community of like-minded people who can work together. In just under two months, all the free mints were gone, and now a DAO has been born, which has helped curate learning resources for web3, a community and helped people find jobs. But this is the beauty of a DAO.

In a DAO, you do what you want. Create your project or contribute in your way. Here are a few ways that people are contributing to the DAO.

  • Creating and maintaining a newsletter 📰
  • Developing a manifesto and season for the DAO
  • Hosting meet-ups in-person to network and educate
  • Creating learning resources

And much more… as people have been finding freelance work💸 etc.

Why join the Developer_DAO? 💻

Joining the DAO will help you network with exceptional individuals such as Nader, Patrick and many more. It’s an excellent way to help develop your web3 education, and you are surrounded by individuals who are only trying to improve themselves and are happy to educate others. One of the best parts about web3 is that everyone is amiable and glad to help you. It’s good to tap into that resource and then pass on that favour to other people👊!

I loved being part of the discord, seeing such exciting discussions and coming across excellent learning resources, which I have added to my learning path! Not only that, but I receive support on threads/blogs such as this. The feedback I get from these individuals is helpful, and because not many of my IRL friends are interested in web3, it’s hard to get personal input or advice!

Conclusion

Gm. I <3 rabbithole. I <3 buildspace. I <3 developerdao. Gn.
